Storm prop Kamikamica stood down after pub incident with woman

Melbourne NRL player Tui Kamikamica has been charged by Queensland Police over an alleged incident involving a woman outside a Brisbane hotel.

The Storm prop has been stood down by the NRL club as they await his plea, labelling the incident serious and asserting there is “no place in the game or society for violence against women at any time, in any circumstance”.

A club statement explained they were made aware of charges on Thursday and advised the NRL Integrity Unit immediately.

The 27-year-old, who has played 12 Tests for Fiji and 55 NRL games, will remain stood down until he returns to Melbourne for a formal, in-person interview with the club next week.

“Storm believes firmly that there is no place in the game or society for violence against women at any time, in any circumstance,” the statement read.
